A long-time friend of mine passed away unexpectedly in April and I’ve
been in grief over it. I have a hard time processing emotions, but
especially this one. I know grief can look different for every person
and that I’m no exception, but it’s hard to not feel lost and confused
about how to feel at any given moment, about the loss of a wonderful
friend. Even now I struggle to find the words I want to use, and
everything feels wrong. I suppose that’s why I try to paint my way
though my emotions.
The person that passed away was Jaxx Blackfox,
an artist and friend I’ve known since around 2001. If you searched for
dragon, Ecco, or fantasy art online at all back a decade or two ago
you’ve probably seen her work, she was incredible. This is her dragon,
Chatadar.
